An American poet and novelist; born in Portsmouth, Va., about 1835; died 1894. Included in her novels are "Nameless" (1865); "Perfect through Suffering"; her poems are "The Legend of Catawba" and "Dixie" (1867). Her pen-names were "Viola" and "Frank Dashmore".
