-
An articular eminence, round in one direction, flat in the order. A kind of process, met with more particularly in the ginglymoid joints; - such as the condyles of the occipital, inferior maxillary bone, &c. Some anatomists have applied the term, however, to eminences that are not articular, - as to the lateral tuberosities at the inferior extremity of the os humeri, and even to certain depressions, - as to the concave articular surfaces at the upper extremity of the libia. Chaussier calls the transverse root of the zygomatic process Condyle of the temporal bone.
