The systematic name of a plant, whence Dragon's Blood, Sanguis Draco'nis, Cinnab'aris Graeco'rum, Draconihee'ma, (F.) Sang-Dragon, is procured, it is the red, resinous juice, obtained, in India, from wounding the bark of the Calamus Rotang. It has been used as an astringent in hemorrhages, &c.; but is now rarely employed.
