They arise from the hypogastric, from the ilio-lumbar, or from the gluteal; and descend before the anterior sacral foramina, anastomosing In an arched manner, towards the coccyx, with the middle sacral. They give off external and posterior branches, which enter the sacral foramina; and internal branches, which are distributed to the pyramidalis, sacrum, etc.
