[Gr.] (Myth.) In the Odyssey, the inhabitants of an island called Scheria, whose ships have the powers of thought and speech, and perform their voyages without rudder, tackling, oarsmen, or sails. They are, in other words, the dwellers in Cloud-land, and are, in fact, the clouds.
