Centers in the spinal cord, excitation of which causes constriction of the smaller blood vessels. The principal vasoconstrictor centeris a bilateral group of cells, situated in the medulla oblongata and the pons Varolii, from just below the corpus quadrigemina to 3 to 4 mm. above the point of the calamus scriptorius.
