Erected in 1756 during the French and Indian wars by the English troops under Shirley at Oswego, N. Y. It was attacked the same year, while commanded by Colonel Mercer, by Montcalm. Both Oswego and Ontario were captured, and the latter was burned to the ground.

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
