A notable Dutch anti-papal polemist; born at Zierickzee about 1570; died 1629. He wrote some 20 books, most of them attacking the papal system. Among them are: "The Paw of the Beast"; "The Plain Mark of Antichrist"; "Bileam; or, The Blind Papist".

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
