A French historian; born at Saumur, March 31, 1813; died at Poitiers, May 15, 1874. A distinguished Jesuit, he wrote: "First Canadian Missions of the Jesuits" (1864); "Banishment of the Jesuits from Louisiana" (1865); and similar studies.
