-
A family of proteins involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport. Karyopherins are heteromeric molecules composed two major types of components, ALPHA KARYOPERINS and BETA KARYOPHERINS, that function together to transport molecules through the NUCLEAR PORE COMPLEX. Several other proteins such as RAN GTP BINDING PROTEIN and CELLULAR APOPTOSIS SUCCEPTIBILITY PROTEIN bind to karyopherins and participate in the transport process.

Platidiam
- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
