A volatile oil distilled from the leaves of Pinus pumilio. It is colorless, or nearly so, with an aromatic, lavenderlike odor and a pungent but not unpleasant flavor. It resembles turpentine in medicinal properties, but is milder. It is used by inhalation in the treatment of respiratory diseases.
