(1804-1877), invented the system of rifled cannon and projectiles which bears his name. The Parrott guns exhibit great endurance, one at Charleston having been fired 4606 times before bursting, and were of great service in the Civil War.

- An enzyme that catalyzes the of groups from acetyl-CoA to arylamines. They have wide specificity for aromatic amines, particularly serotonin, and can also catalyze acetyl transfer between arylamines without CoA. EC 2.3.1.5.
