A Bohemian historian; born at Vamberk, April 2, 1838. He is professor of history at the University of Prague, and an authority on Czech history and literature. His publications include: "Bohemian Constitutional Law" (1871); "Review of the Ethnographic Literature of the Czechs"; "Defense of Wenceslas"; "Biography of Emperor Charles IV. of Bohemia" (1878).
