(1750-1779), enlisted in a South Carolina regiment in 1776. In the attack of Fort Moultrie he exposed himself to the fire of the enemy in order to recover the State flag, which had been shot from the parapet. He was very successful in detachment service. He was mortally wounded in the assault on Savannah.
