He published "Literature and Literary Men of Great Britain and Ireland" (2 vols., 1851); "Outlines of Rhetoric and Belles-Lettres" (1854); "Poets and Poetry of the Ancient Greeks" (1854); "Compendium of the History of the Ancient Hebrews" (1856).
